LIBRARY

The library at Arul Tharum VPMM College of Engineering and Technology is a knowledge hub that provides access to an extensive collection of books, journals, research papers, and digital resources. It is designed to support students and faculty in their academic and research pursuits.

The library houses over 35,000 books, national and international journals, and has access to digital resources such as IEEE, Springer, DELNET, and NPTEL. The library operates with a fully automated system for efficient book circulation and catalog management.

Library Automation and Computerization:

The library is fully automated with AutoLib – Integrated Library Management Software. A database is maintained for books, journals, research papers, and digital resources. The system enables students and staff to search, borrow, and renew books digitally.

Books are classified using an interlinked numbering system. Book renewals and searches can be conducted digitally by author, title, or subject. The system also allows students to track their borrowed books and due dates.

Book Bank:

A dedicated Book Bank is provided for students from economically weaker sections. Books donated by alumni and organizations are available for students to borrow and use throughout the semester, ensuring equal learning opportunities for all.

Project Corner:

Completed student projects, research papers, and faculty contributions are stored for reference in a dedicated Project Corner.

Audio Visual Facility:

The library provides access to computers and digital media resources for interactive learning.

Reprographic Facility:

The library is equipped with high-speed Xerox machines for student and faculty use.

Local Area Network (LAN) Facility:

The library operates on an internal LAN system, allowing students to access library software from within the campus.

Wide Area Network (WAN) Facility:

Students can access library resources from different departments via a campus-wide network.

Internet Facility:

The library provides high-speed internet (up to 100 Mbps) for academic and research purposes.
